HSC Piano Lessons (Online)
For students undertaking Music 1 for their HSC course in NSW, Australia
Strictly limited to a maximum of 8 students
Package: $1150 Australian Dollars
James' students get consistently high results - over 90% of James' HSC piano students have received a Band 6 result in Music 1
Over the past decade James has worked with over 100 HSC students as an instrumental teacher, accompanist, and mentor - he has the know how and experience to get the best out of a student for their HSC performance exam
Performance
The HSC Music 1 course is heavy on performance - we aim to build on a students existing unique skill set with a tailor made performance program designed to not only get the best possible marks within the HSC framework, but help you grow as a musician
Students have the option to perform all solo piano pieces, or a mix of solo, accompaniment, and band pieces
Band pieces can either be played with a live band or a customised backing track
Our Program
You chose music as a subject because of a love and passion for music - your performance program should be reflective of YOU as a musician
We work WITH students and classroom teachers to develop a strong HSC ready performance program
What can you expect from Wicked Keys?
Before Your First Lesson:
Students are asked to send through a list of their favourite bands/artists/songs/movies/video games - this helps James do HIS homework and come up with a list of potential repertoire
HSC Basics:
We cover the basic foundations of the HSC course: what examiners are looking for and how to pick the most appropriate repertoire to get the most marks within the HSC framework
Theory and Repertoire:
Whether you're brand new to lessons, or have been playing for years, James will bring a fresh perspective to your music education - we're going to cover the foundational contemporary theory skills, technical work, and repertoire based learning
Program Building Guidance:
We want YOU to be in charge of your HSC - there's no point spending 9 months on a jazz ballad if you want to ROCK IT OUT with some Ben Folds. We're going to work out what music gets you buzzing - from there, both students and James will develop their own shortlists to work from before whittling down to our final four performance choices
Performance Tips and Tricks:
As any muso will tell you, there's a bit more to performing than just "learning the notes" - we've got to tackle the nerves, performance anxiety, and what to do when a mistake happens (because a mistake WILL happen!)
We'll run through performance advice, scientifically proven relaxation techniques, and tips on making your big day as stress free as possible
